Summary
VeilShot does not collect, transmit, or sell your screenshots or browsing data. Screenshots are stored only on your own computer.
What VeilShot stores, and where
Screenshots. Every capture is saved in your browser's local IndexedDB storage on your device. They are never uploaded. Deleting a screenshot, or using “Delete all history” in Settings, removes it permanently.
Preferences. Capture settings are stored in your browser's local extension storage on your device.
What leaves your device
VeilShot makes exactly one kind of network request: purchase status checks, and only if you purchase VeilShot Pro.
When you buy Pro or check your purchase status, VeilShot sends a randomly generated device ID (and, when activating a purchase made elsewhere, the order ID from your email) to:
- our license server, hosted on Cloudflare Workers, and
- Waffo Pancake, our payment provider and merchant of record.
Waffo stores your purchase information (email address, order details) as the seller of record, and handles sales tax in your jurisdiction. The device ID is a random value generated by VeilShot; it is not derived from your hardware and cannot be used to identify you outside the license system.
What VeilShot does not do
- It does not read or transmit the content of the pages you capture.
- It does not track your browsing history.
- It uses no analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.
- It serves no advertisements.
- It does not sell or share data with third parties.
Permissions and why they are needed
